Tooth and Nail: Jewelry + Oddities
I create my art by rescuing relics and turning them into jewelry. I use bone, leather, wood, feathers, birch bark, vintage stamps and old hardware in making my pieces. Most of the materials are found, recycled or traded. Items you may find in my shop, stamped leather cuffs, feather earrings, lion door knocker necklace, 1960 french stamp necklace, leather rings, raccoon jawbone necklace, birch bark jewelry and vintage trinkets to boot! "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together" Community involvement has been an important factor in my life. I graduated from the College for Creative Studies in 2005 where I met a large network of friends and fellow Detroit artists. I am very captivated by the City of Detroit and have been involved in many efforts to make our city stronger and our neighborhoods thrive, as they once did. I'm proud to be a part of Theater Bizarre and The Detroit Fire Guild, two organizations that thrive in the community.
